Specialist equipment had to be used to put out a kitchen fire in Phillack in the early hours of Sunday (August 13).

Crews had to use a thermal imaging camera to find the fire - which turned out to be involving an aga.

Home owners called Cornwall Fire and Rescue reporting smoke in their kitchen.

One appliance from Hayle and one appliance from Tolvaddon along with a Wholetime Officer were rushed to the address.

Crews also used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel battle the blaze.

The emergency service says the fire was extinguished and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used.

The cause was accidental.
