Police say they are searching for a man who fled the scene of a crash in west Cornwall.

A stretch of one of the main roads towards Penzance was blocked after two cars hit.

Officers have told Pirate FM no-one was hurt after it happened on Jelbert Way on Tuesday morning.

A spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called at around 9am to Jelbert Way, Penzance, following reports of a collision between two cars.

"The cars were a Vauxhall Corsa and a Land Rover and the incident was non-injury.

"Two men from the Corsa made off from the scene and the incident is ongoing.

They later added: "Police have located one of the suspects who has been taken to Treliske as a precaution".

"A second suspect is still outstanding".

Inrix Traffic and Travel said: "Heavy traffic and partially blocked due to an accident. Two cars involved on Jelbert Way at Posses Lane".

They added that it happened near the garage and police are at the scene, but that everything had been cleared just after lunchtime.

Anyone with any information is being urged to contact police on 101, quoting log 156 of 15th August.
