Loud 'explosion' heard in St Ives
Published by the Pirate FM News Team at 12:54pm 25th September 2017. (Updated at 3:46pm 25th September 2017)
There have been reports of a 'loud boom' being heard in St Ives.
Locals say it sounded like an explosion in the town on Monday lunchtime.
Other people think it may have been a sonic boom - but there is no word yet on what actually caused it.
Claire has a beauty salon there, she told Pirate FM: "I heard a loud bang that sounded like an explosion.
"I went outside to see if I could find out what it was.
"People were coming out of the shop and house next door.
"Everyone heard it but no one had any idea where it came from."
Was a boom rather than a bang which I heard at the top of St Ives... sounded deep... boom like, dogs went mad only one boom, nothing since.
