Dawn French has declared her love for Cornish pasties on Loose Women.

The star was handed a giant Oggy from Redruth-based Etheringtons Farm Shop to celebrate her 60th birthday.

The actress, who has a house in Fowey, told the panel "I'm made of pasty - I'm just pasty with skin".

She also revealed how she prefers pasties to parties, saying: "I will sit down on Saturday with my kids, my old man, my bro and my best friends and we'll drink too much probably!"

Dawn has thanked everyone involved for the pasty, which was personalised with the message "Happy Birthday Dawn".

How do you thank people for a Cornish pasty - with the phrase 'Proper Job' of course!

Speaking about her weight loss, Dawn said: "I suppose I did it quite a long time ago, and I go up and down a bit, I don't feel any different at all, I'm still Dawn.

"I always liked the old Dawn, and I may go there again, who knows, depends how many doughnuts I eat frankly".

When the comedienne was presented with her birthday pasty, she said: "That is amazing, thank you so much, it smells great.

"You never, never put carrot in a pasty. I love cornish pasties, I'm made of pasty, I'm just pasty with skin".

Of course, this is not the first time the Delicious star has been presented with a pasty.

She tweeted a thank-you to a woman from Camborne, who baked her an oggy in Australia.

The star was doing a stand-up tour down under last year, but tweeted stories about running into people with a Duchy connection.

She wrote: "Oh joy! A maid from Camborne made me this today in #Adelaide. @MissEsCurteez I salute you, pastry initials n all.Yum."
