Police have launched an appeal after two attempted armed robberies near Camborne.

Officers say a man with a knife approached the till and demanded money at Adelaide Stores.

The shop assistant ran off and the offender left the scene at Penrose Court in Tolvaddon empty handed.

It happened between 11.30am and 11.45am on Sunday.

Later that day, police say another shop was targeted on Pendarves Street in Tuckingmill.

Officers say a hooded man with a cover over his face entered Mr W's Eats and Treats.

He reportedly had a gun and threatened staff to hand over money from the till.

No money was given over and the man left the store empty handed sometime between 8.42pm and 8.48pm.

Officers don't think the two incidents are linked but want anyone who knows anything to get in touch.

PS Dave Keevil said: "These incidents are not believed to be linked, however, we are keeping an open mind at this time.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and we are asking anyone who have information on either of these incidents to come forward.

"If you saw anything or have any information please contact us via 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting CR/098512/17 for the Tolvadden incident and CR/098641/17 for the Tuckingmill incident.

"Information can also be passed anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org."
