There has been a landslip at a popular Cornish beach, regularly used in filming for Poldark.

A large amount of rocks and soil spilled onto the sand Dollar Cove last Thursday night.

The rocky cove at Gunwalloe takes its name from the silver treasure washed up from the San Salvador.

Now Pirate FM understands the National Trust, which owns it, says it will look at moving the coastal footpath away from the beach.

National Trust head ranger Mike Hardy told Cornwall Live: “The landslip is a dramatic example of how dynamic the whole coastline is and part of what makes it so interesting and beautiful."

He added: "Luckily access hasn’t been affected here, but we know from experience and monitoring that we will have to continue to move the coast path inland over time to adapt to a changing coast.

“Thinking long-term, and about issues like climate change and sea level rise, will help to ensure plenty of space for people and wildlife along the coast in the future".
