Man who died in motorbike crash named

A man who died after his motorbike was caught in a crash in a village near Truro has been named.

53-year-old David Lawrence from St Austell was rushed to hospital, but doctors could not save him.

Three vehicles were involved in the collision at Tregony the Friday before last.

Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses after it shut a stretch of the A3078 for over five and a half hours

A force spokesperson said: "A man who died following a three-vehicle collision on the A3078 Tregony in Truro on Friday 1st December has been named.

"David Lawrence, 53, from St Austell, was travelling out of Tregony when he was fatally injured after the Yamaha bike he was riding collided with a Land Rover.

"An Audi, driven by a 36-year-old woman from Mevagissey, then collided with the Land Rover. The occupants of the Land Rover and Audi were uninjured in the incident.

"The motorcyclist was taken to Treliske Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

"The road was shut for five and a half hours whilst officers carried out scene investigations".
