Storm Eleanor has destroyed parts of a harbour wall in Cornwall.

Kernow Weather Team took the photo above, which reveals the extent of the damage at Portreath.

Dave and his son Joe were there at first-light on Wednesday, describing it as a scene of "devastation".

Joe said: "We went down this morning to get some photos and when we walked round to where the pub is, we saw a hole in the wall.

"We walked round to the car park and that was when we realised that parts of the wall had fallen down".

@SWStormChasers were also at the scene, where Lynn Adams captured these photos.

They show show how parts of the wall crumbled had crumbled onto the beach at high tide.

Police have cordoned off the car park above but locals are worried there could be more damage tonight.

Simon lives near the beach and said: "The wind was incredibly strong and it was combined with an exceptionally high tide.

"My house is on the beach there, probably around 50 yards away from the pier. Obviously we're concerned; who knows what's going to happen tonight".

Huge waves driven by gales of up to 80mph also sparked flooding at Perranporth and in St Ives, there are reports an art gallery has suffered damage.
