One person has been treated by paramedics after a milk float crashed in south-east Cornwall.

Firefighters say it flipped over near Trethevy Quoit at Darite, trapping the casualty inside.

Crews from Liskeard and Bodmin had to cut them free after it happened late on Thursday night.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed it was the only vehicle involved, just before 11pm.

A spokesperson said: "Cornwall Fire and Rescue service received a call from South West Ambulance service reporting a road traffic collision at Trethevy Quoit, Darite.

"Two pumps from Liskeard, the rescue tender from Bodmin Community Fire Station and an on duty Officer were immediately mobilised by Fire Control.

"On arrival, the officer in charge confirmed a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a medium sized milk float, with one person trapped.

"Crews used crash rescue equipment to make access to the casualty and release the person from the vehicle.

"Crews assisted the paramedics, made the vehicle safe and left the incident in the hands of South West Ambulance Service".
