UPDATE: Cornwall on flood watch as storm looms

Published by the Pirate FM News Team at 8:17am 16th January 2018. (Updated at 1:30pm 16th January 2018)

Flood alerts issued for Cornwall after a night of torrential downpours have been stood down, for now.

The warning was issued on Monday afternoon, as river levels for the Cober and Hayle remained high.

The area is no longer listed as an active flood alert on the government's Flood Warnings page.

However it comes as as another storm bears down on the Duchy, with the Met Office predicting gales of up to 80mph.
