Penzance KFC closes after hygiene inspection

A Cornish KFC has been closed after hygiene concerns were raised.

It follows an inspection at the Penzance fast-food restaurant.

Bosses say the chain at the Heliport Retail Park is temporarily shut will maintenance work is carried out.

They say action will also be taken to try and boost the hygiene rating again.

A KFC spokesperson said: ''Over 99% of our restaurants have either a four or five-star Food Hygiene rating, so we're really disappointed that our Penzance restaurant didn't meet our usual high standards in a recent inspection.

"The restaurant is temporarily closed at the moment whilst we carry out maintenance, and take action to address all points made by the Environmental Health Officer.

"Once complete, we'll be asking for a full re-inspection very soon and are confident we'll receive a much higher score.''
