5 things to do on Valentine's Day in Cornwall

Published by the Pirate FM News Team at 5:50pm 9th February 2018.

For all you men (and women) who usually forget romance's biggest day of the year, we're here to help!

Be one step ahead this Valentine's Day and make this year more memorable than ever.

And being in Cornwall, you already have a pretty good chance of getting it right.

So, we've found five things you can do, right here in the Duchy, without breaking the bank!

1. Candlelit dinner

Why not make this year extra special with a quiet, candlelit dinner at home?

If you're a parent, get the kids involved with the cooking and setting up... and even make them wait on you while you both eat!

You can also take it a bit more up-market and head to some of Cornwall's favourite restaurants - like Jamie Oliver's 15 at Watergate Bay or the Tolcarne Inn in Newlyn.

2. Beach walk

Feeling the pinch this month? You don't have to spend the pennies to be romantic.

Why not take a sunset (or rainy... depending on the weather) beach walk?

It's safe to say Cornwall has enough sandy stretches on offer.

You can even take your own bottle of sparkle and watch the waves in style!

3. Surprise picnic

A surprise picnic might sound a bit cliche... but if you haven't done it before, we'd highly recommend it!

Keep costs down with some of your best homemade dishes and wow your partner.

Don't forget to add a little Cornish touch with some pasties and your baker's best saffron cake.

4. Cosy pub

Let's be honest, it's still pretty cold out there!

And there's nothing much more romantic than heading to a cosy pub and getting together in front of the fire.

A couple of warming whiskys and you'll be on your way to your most chilled out Valentine's yet...

5. Roadtrip

roadtrip

There are so many stunning locations around Cornwall... and we bet you haven't been to them all!

Why not take your loved one on a surprise road trip to somewhere neither of you have ever been before?

If you want to get really magical, head to St Nectan's Glen to see the waterfall in north Cornwall or take a wintry walk on Bodmin's vast moor.
