If you'd told us this time last week that snow would grind Cornwall to a halt for two days, we probably would've said yeah, OK, pigs might fly!

However, grind us to a halt the white stuff did and the Met Office has issued a new warning for ice too.

Dozens of schools were forced to shut or open late on Wednesday, as flurries turned roads into ice rinks.

It sparked crashes across the Duchy, closing main and minor roads from Helston to Bodmin.

Some places were wondering what all the fuss was about, with barely a flake in sight.

Others experienced a few centimetres and could not wait to get out with the cameras.

We have rounded up a few because let's face it, it'll probably be another decade before we're back on 'snow watch'; enjoy!

1) Traffic and Travel chaos - Part 1

If you live anywhere west of Newquay, you will be familiar with Chiverton Cross roundabout - but probably not closed because of snow!

2) Traffic and travel chaos - Part 2

The team at Cornwall Air Ambulance probably weren't expecting clearing the runway of snow to be their first task of the day!

3) Snow on the beaches, wait what?!

Beautiful scenes from Porth!

4) And Polzeath...

5) Animals in the snow - Part 1!

Sophie McCabe from Constantine sent us this picture of her horse in the snow; he looks as surprised as we were to witness the white stuff! (Fab blanket too!)

6) Animals in the snow - Part 2

Some of the Humboldt penguins at Paradise Park near Hayle had never seen snow before and they seemed to want to eat it!

7) Snowy gardens

Stunning - enough said!

8) A winter wonderland

If you didn't see the snow where you live, it did fall in some places, honest! This was Foxhole on Wednesday morning.

9) Last but by no means least - the world's smallest snowman? (Possibly)

Well, when you only see snow every eight years or so, you've got to make the most of it all!
