Man stabbed in the street in Bodmin

Police have issued an appeal for clues after a man was stabbed in the street in Bodmin.

Officers say a man in his 40s suffered a serious injury during the attack on Wallace Road.

He was walking with a woman when they were caught up in an 'incident' with an unknown man.

The casualty was rushed to hospital but although serious, his injuries are not life-threatening.

Devon and Cornwall Police are treating what happened in the early hours of last Wednesday as grievous bodily harm.

A force spokesperson said: "Police are currently investigating an incident of GBH which happened on Wallace Road in Bodmin on Wednesday 7th March 2018 at around 3.30am. 

"A man and woman were walking down the road when they have become involved in an incident with an unknown man.

"The unknown man has then stabbed the victim, a man in his 40s, causing serious injury. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"The offender is described as a black male, and was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans".
