WATCH: Weather warning for snow in Cornwall

A yellow weather warning is out for snow in Cornwall this weekend.

The Met Office has issued it as the cold stuff is expected across the UK, with temperatures plummeting.

Earlier this week, Pirate FM told you that we could possibly see flurries, as cold weather warnings were issued but didn't cover the Duchy.

However, the warning out for Sunday means we could see it after all (is it even shocking anymore?).

It comes days after the 'Beast from the East' battered Cornwall, causing chaos on our roads and shutting schools for several days.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Snow showers are likely to continue throughout Sunday, with a chance that longer spells of snow may affect southern regions for a time on Sunday.

"There is a chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.

"There is a chance that power cuts could occur. There is a small chance that some rural communities could become cut off.

"Icy surfaces may increase the risk of accidents and injuries. Significant wind chill will be another factor.

"This warning has been updated to slightly adjust the western boundary westwards.

"Note also that Amber warnings have been issued for areas currently considered most likely to see greater impacts."

They continued: "Not all places will see snow showers but where they do occur they may be organised into bands, resulting in locally 3 to 6 cm accumulating.

"Some melting of lying snow is expected during the middle of the day.

"There is a lower likelihood that more widespread falls of 5 to 10 cm may affect parts of the region, with 10 to 20 cm on hills. Ice and significant wind chill will be further hazards."
