Man dies following house fire in Launceston

A man has died after a house fire in Launceston.

Police and firefighters got the call to Penhole drive on Easter Monday.

The man was found inside the property in the early hours of the morning but could not be saved.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were notified at around 3am on Monday 2nd April 2018 to a property on Penhole Drive in Launceston.

"Fire Services were also in attendance following reports of a fire within the property.

"A man was located within the property and was later pronounced deceased.

"The death is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner."
