Late-night assault in Bodmin leaves man injured

Police have posted an online appeal after a man was hurt in a late-night attack in Bodmin.

They say the victim who is in his late 60s suffered injuries to his face just after 10pm on Tuesday.

Officers say the suspect, described as a man wearing a blue jacket, was with a woman when it happened on Fore Street.

They also want to trace potential witnesses who are believed to have stepped in to help.

Posting on Facebook, Bodmin Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a male on Fore Street, Bodmin at approximately 2210 hours on Tuesday 3rd April.

"The victim is in his late 60s and suffered facial injuries and was treated by Ambulance.

"It is believed that witnesses intervened during the assault and police are keen to trace these people.

"The suspect was believed to be male, wearing a blue jacket, in company with a female.

"If anyone has any information regarding the above incident please contact Bodmin Police on 101 quoting CR/028412/18".
