A celebrated comedian set to perform a sell-out gig in Cornwall this summer is making waves with his band of 'Charity Ninjas'.

Jason Manford, who some of you may know from Channel 4's comedy show '8 Out of 10 Cats', is due to visit Redruth in July.

It comes after he asked fans online where they most wanted to see him on his upcoming 'Muddle Class' tour.

And after numerous requests for Redruth, he is set to grace the stage at the Regal Cinema on 31st July.

But don't get too excited yet... he also indicated that he wasn't even sure where that is (so fingers crossed it finds it on the day!).

In a post on Facebook, he wrote: "On pre-sale tomorrow after lots of your messages are Southampton, Taunton, Exeter, Plymouth and Redruth (wherever the hell that is!).

"Getting there! Will post link up later when I get it! Thanks for badgering me to do this, looking forward to seeing you all!"

However, right now the star is being congratulated on his new charity venture.

But it's all a big secret... so shh!

It all started with a Facebook post and now his #charityninjas are helping transform the lives of people everywhere.

Describing himself as 'The Sensei', he simply puts up a link to a worthy fundraising campaign and urges people to donate overnight - deleting the post by the morning so the organisers have no idea where the money has suddenly come from.

The aim is to get them as close to their target as possible.

And the project has already seen more than £120,000 raised for good causes.

You can find the rules here:

It has already sparked widespread admiration for the fun and uplifting idea.

Among causes, they have helped raise funds for a little boy to hear again and to pay for another young man's prosthetic leg.

Pat Bell wrote on his page: "This ninja thing is a wee bit addictive, I really need to go to sleep but I can't step away from the page. HELP!"

Kirsty Brettell added: "I think everyone involved are amazing! I wish I could afford to donate but unfortunately not in a position to do so. I shall do my bit by sharing each ninja post instead"

Want to be a #charityninja too?

Keep an eye on Jason's page here to play!
