Newquay is being promised that the town is a safe place to live and work, as police say a minority of homeless people have been causing issues.
A 26-year-old rough sleeper was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly on Thursday evening.
Officers say they cleared a large amount of rubbish, urine-soaked duvets and alcohol from a shop doorway on Bank Street.
PC Barbery and PC Day were thanked by local businesses and members of public.
PC Allen, Neighbourhood Beat Manager for the Town, said: "Homelessness is an issue nationwide.
"Unfortunately, a very small minority of the homeless community in town have been causing issues for local businesses and members of the public.
"Newquay Police and Cornwall ASB Team are working with both the Town Council and other key partners to resolve matters.
"Our aim to is offer support and advice to the homeless but also to disrupt any criminal activity/anti-social behaviour.
"I would like to reassure the local community that Newquay is a safe place to live, work and visit."
