Firefighters have been scrambled to an unattended bonfire in Bude.

Smoke was seen billowing into the air and crews used hose reels to put it out.

The team was then called to help two people trapped in a lift.

They managed to get them free on Thursday afternoon.

A Bude Fire Station person posted on Twitter: "One pump called to a large unattended bonfire.

"Crews extinguished and returned home.

"Later that afternoon, we were sent to two casualties stuck in a lift.

"Crews gained access released trapped persons and returned home again."
