Investigators have revealed a jump in UFO sightings across Cornwall.

It comes after five reports of strange happenings in locations from Launceston to Newlyn in the last year.

And those at The British Earth and Aerial Mysteries Society have described 'very important' ones at Marazion too.

Hilary Porter, who runs the society with fellow investigator Ken Parsons, said: "We had a lot sightings last year.

"We have someone who goes out regularly and sees stuff and then we have two very important ones from Marazion.

"There were quite important developments there and people are a bit spooked to say the least!

"The evidence has been photographed - they are there for you to see.

"You can see both, in all their glory."

They include a sighting from someone who saw a 'spooky red light' over Marazion marshes back in September.

In the report, they said: "Huge red light...at about 10.20 at night as I approached it, possibly 40 yds.

"It vanished completely at Green Lane Marazion..

"Very spooky, can't think of any explanation!!"

Another person described how they saw a 'perfectly round disc' above North Hill Village, Launceston.

They detail how it appeared vertical as if flipped over and how it was like 'looking up a lampshade' and appeared to have a halo of light.

Watch it below:

They said: "I observed the object for about 20-30 secs reached for my phone to film it and it had disappeared. I keep filming on the off chance it might reappear for a few minutes and I believe I caught the same object move away from the area at high speed.

"It felt brief, but it was very quiet and surreal.

"On a personal note, the experience has shaken me to the core and frankly terrified me. During the sighting I was unsettled but very calm, I knew exactly what I was witnessing, shock I guess, but in the weeks that have passed I have had nightmares!

"I see everything now in a new light.

"Still having problems processing it all.

"My God, 'they' are really real!"

Another included mysterious lights spotted over Mevagissey, which they saw were initially yellow and orange in colour.

You can watch the eerie video below.

Hilary said: "Some people just are amazed when they see things like this and stand there - aghast.

"Others are more fearful and think 'oh my God - what is that?'

"Others look and take pics. If they can get that footage then they have done a huge thing for Ufology - it proves - it's all evidence, evidence, evidence."

She also claims the government said some years ago that UFOs are real and that it is a 'natural phenomenon' - but Hilary disagrees and says there's nothing natural about it at all.

She said: "They are intelligent. These orb things and plasma things are intelligent.

"What they are we don't know. But they are real. This is where we have got to - that is an MOD investigation. They go back to ball lightening - but it's not related to it at all."

Hilary advises anyone interested in capturing UFOs to always carry a decent camera, and not rely on a mobile phone, so they can get a good image.
