Woman dies after crash in Helston

 An 18-year-old woman has died after a crash in Helston.

Police say a motorbike and car collided near RNAS Culdrose on Sunday lunchtime.

The biker was airlifted to Treliske but doctors couldn't save her.

The road was closed for around five hours and anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact officers.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "An 18-year-old woman has died following a two-vehicle collision on the A3083 on Sunday 22nd April 2018.

"Police were notified at approximately 12.45pm to reports of a collision between a black Honda 125 motorbike and a silver Toyota Landcruiser.

"The motorcyclist, an 18-year-old local woman, was airlifted to Treliske Hospital via the coastguard helicopter where she died as a result of the injuries sustained.

"Her next of kin have been informed.

"Emergency Services attended the scene and the road was closed for just under five hours.

"Police would like to thank members of the public for their patience."
