Officers say the lad was on his skateboard when he was approached and punched in the face.

It happened near the pond area on Armada Way and we're told he didn't know his attacker.

Devon and Cornwall Police think the offender was walking with a woman before it happened the Thursday day before last.

The force is urging anyone who saw something at around 12.40pm to come forward.

A spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Plymouth. The incident happened on Thursday 19 April at around 12.40pm on Armada way.

"The victim, a teenage boy, was on his skateboard near the pond area between the old council offices and Plymouth Crown court when he was approached by an unknown offender who punched him in the face, causing bleeding from his lip.

"The offender is believed to have then left the scene in the direction of Royal Parade.

"The offender is described as a white male, aged between 25-30 years old and was wearing a black t-shirt with white trim. He is thought to have been walking with a woman wearing a yellow top".
