Phones and cameras have been a-snapping as the sun shines, cue dolphins spotted all over Cornwall!

Summer is on the way and it is the perfect time to spot the majestic creatures gliding and playing in Cornish waters.

In fact, some of the photos and videos already trending on social media are nothing short of breathtaking.

That includes the kayaker who was video calling his daughter when a pod swam right past his boat in Mount's Bay!

It tops the list of the ones Pirate FM has rounded up for you - the best of 2018 so far - enjoy!

1. Kayaker Graham Buckley spotted this pod in Mount's Bay over the bank holiday and the footage is breathtaking! (Not least because he happened to be video calling his daughter at the time!

2. How about these sneaky swimmers?! Caught on video by Ian Boreham, just off St Agnes.

3. Unusual and certainly spectacular - dolphins battling the rough seas off St Ives earlier this year.

4. If you follow Marine Discovery Penzance on Facebook, you will know how good they are at finding shy animals of the sea! But, thankfully for us, they get videos too!

5. Don't worry, they're not all confined to the deep west of Cornwall! Watch the moment the team at Fishing Cornwall enjoyed a ride out at Looe with a playful pod.

6. One of the most perfect spots to catch sight of dolphins - Rockpool Cafe in Mousehole. We would highly recommend setting up camp with a cream tea and keeping your eyes peeled.

7. Okay, so this is not a dolphin video but when you spot basking sharks at Porthcurno, you would want it shared too!
