Person gets trapped underneath lawnmower in Hayle

A person has been rescued after getting their foot stuck underneath a lawnmower in Hayle.

Emergency services got the shout to Penpol Terrace on Tuesday morning to reports of a person being trapped under the machine.

Firefighters from the town and Tolvaddon along with paramedics were scrambled and crash rescue equipment was used to get the person free.

A Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service received a call from the ambulance service reporting a person trapped under a lawn mower in Penpol Terrace, Hayle.

"One pump from Hayle and the rescue tender from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station was immediately mobilised by critical control along with a whole time officer.

"On arrival the officer in charge confirmed one person trapped by their foot under a ride on lawn mower.

"The person was released using crash rescue equipment.

"The scene was left safe and in the hands of the ambulance service."
