Calling Cornwall's Poldark fans...

How would you like to see an EXCLUSIVE preview of the next series and get to meet some of the stars?

The showing of the first episode of series four will air at a star-studded event at the Regal Cinema, Redruth, next month.

Don't get too excited ladies - we're being told that although the stunning Eleanor Tomlinson, who plays Demelza, will be making an appearance, heart-throb and lead actor Aidan Turner can't be there.

However, while the Ross Poldark actor may not be riding in on his noble stead, his nemesis George Warleggan (played by Jack Farthing) will be on hand to pick up the broken hearts.

And you'll even get a chance to ask the cast and producers some of your burning questions ahead of the upcoming series!

Leo Devine, Head of BBC South West, said: "This exclusive screening is a real treat for fans of Poldark in Cornwall and we’re extremely excited to be welcoming some of the stars of the show to Redruth ahead of its premiere on BBC One.

"The region plays a starring role and I can’t wait to see what the new series has in store."

Luke Norris (Dwight Enys) and Christian Brassington (Ossie Whitworth), as well as Debbie Horsfield (writer and executive producer) and Karen Thrussell (Mammoth Screen executive producer), will also be attending the screening with a Q&A session following.

Set against the dramatic back-drop of some of Cornwall's most stunning locations, the series has been adapted by Debbie Horsfield from the novels by Winston Graham and produced by Mammoth Screen.

Popular film loactions include west Cornwall's Tin Coast and Charlestown, near St Austell.

The eight-part series was also shot across parts of the West Country, as well as some London locations.

So what can we expect from the next series?

In the new series, Ross must defend Cornwall from an empowered George Warleggan, and risks everything he holds dear as he embarks on a political journey which takes him to the nation's capital.

Demelza finds her loyalties torn, Elizabeth (Heida Reed) tries to strengthen her marriage, Morwenna (Ellise Chappell) continues to be oppressed by husband Reverend Ossie Whitworth (Christian Brassington), and the Enyses (Luke Norris and Gabriella Wilde) are tested as never before.

Porducers say that 'powerful' new characters will also enter the saga in the form of Rebecca Front (War And Peace, The Thick Of It) as Lady Whitworth, Ossie’s formidable mother and Max Bennett (The Hollow Crown) as Monk Adderley, an unscrupulous society figure who is on a collision course with the Poldarks.

Also back for series four are Harry Richardson and Tom York as Drake and Sam Carne, Beatie Edney as Prudie and Josh Whitehouse as Lieutenant Hugh Armitage, who remains deeply in love with Demelza.

You can see a sneak preview here - and we hear there will be lots of romance!

The screening on Tuesday 5th June starts at 7pm and fans who want to be in the audience can register for tickets here.
