Car and motorbike crash blocks road near Torpoint

A main road on the way to Torpoint was left partially blocked after a crash involving a car and motorbike.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were all scrambled to the A374 between Polbathic and Sheviock.

Two people in the car were described as 'walking wounded' and the biker injured his wrist.

It happened on Thursday lunchtime and the road has now cleared.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to reports of a collision between a car and a motorcycle on the A374 at Polbathic, Torpoint.

"It was reported at 12.10pm today (17th May).

"Police, fire and the ambulance attended.

"Two people in car are walking wounded and the male motorcyclist sustained a wrist injury.

"The road is partially blocked and recovery is on scene."

At the time, Inrix Traffic and Travel said: "A374 partially blocked due to accident, a car and motorcycle involved between Horsepool Lane (Sheviock) and Kellow Park (Polbathic).

"The road has now partially re-opened following an accident just outside of Sheviock.

"Affecting traffic travelling between Torpoint and Polbathic."
