Appeal after 'sexual assault' in Camborne

Police investigate alleged sexual assault in Camborne

Police are investigating claims a woman was sexually assaulted on a main street in Camborne.

Pirate FM understands the incident on Trelowarren Street happened as she walked home.

The woman in her 20s is believed to have been targeted by two men in the early hours of Sunday.

Devon and Cornwall Police are urging anyone who saw or heard something suspicious to come forward.

The force also wants to hear from anyone who might have been approached by two men behaving aggressively.

A spokesperson said: "Police are investigating an allegation of a sexual assault by two men on a woman in her 20s on Trelowarren Street, Camborne, in the early hours of Sunday 20th May.

"Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault or may have heard or seen anything suspicious in the area.

"Officers would also like to hear from anyone who may have been approached that evening by two men in an aggressive manner.

"Please contact 101@dc.police.uk quoting crime reference CR/043939/18".
