A gorse fire has broken out at a beauty spot in Newquay.

Firefighters were called after reports of smoke coming from Pentire Point on Wednesday lunchtime.

The blaze broke out in the garden of a derelict house and crews managed to stop it from spreading to the headland.

The smoke could be seen from Crantock beach before a team from the town used a hosereel and beaters to put it out.
