Emotional tributes have been paid to the woman who died after a fall at Truro Cathedral.

66-year-old Jan Stuart has been named locally by her vicar at Perranarworthal.

She is understood to have fallen on the steps the weekend before last.

This Sunday, churches across Cornwall held a minute's silence in her memory.

The Reverend Simon Bone told the BBC: "Jan is a much loved, wife, mother, grandmother and friend".

Dean of Truro Cathedral, Roger Bush, added that her death has had a "huge impact" on the community.

He told the BBC: "It was a very, very tragic and very sad accident and we are all reeling from the shock of it here at the Cathedral.

"The Cathedral is a family and everybody feels that our hearts and our love and our sympathies go to the lady's husband and her family and many friends".

Pirate FM understands Cornwall Council has launched an investigation and you can read more here.
