Appeal for witnesses after 'attempted assault' on Cornwall woman

An appeal has been launched after an alleged attempted assault on a woman in Porthleven.

Police say she had reportedly been followed on Thursday afternoon by someone on a pushbike when heading towards Rinsey.

The woman, in her 20s, says the man then tried to assault her.

He is thought to have been a teenager and is described as wearing a black motorbike helmet and snood, which covered his face.

He was also wearing dark camo trousers and had dark eyebrows.

Officers say they are also investigating 'a possible link' between the attempted assault and an exposure offence.

This involved a young male offender who was walking a dog, thought to be a collie, and is described as white male between 16 and 18-years-old.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information following reports of an attempted assault in Porthleven.

"The incident was reported to have happened at around 4.30pm on Thursday 7 June on Beacon Road heading towards Rinsey.

"The victim, a woman in her 20s, was followed by an unknown offender on a pushbike who attempted to assault her.

"The offender is believed to be a teenage and described as wearing a black motorbike helmet and a snood covering his face. He is also described as wearing dark camo trousers and had dark eyebrows.

"Officers are also investigating a possible link between this offence and an exposure in the area involving a young male offender who was walking a dog, thought to be a Collie.

"The offender was described as a white male, aged between 16 and 18-years-old, around 5ft 8 inch tall and of slim build.

"He was thought to have blonde hair and was wearing a black tracksuit with a black hooded top.
