One person treated by paramedics after crash near St Austell

One person has been treated by paramedics after a crash on the main road between Truro and St Austell.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service says one car was involved on the A390 at Hewas Water.

Crews from St Austell were scrambled on Monday morning, along with the rescue team from Bodmin.

It happened just before 7am but emergency services have confirmed no-one was trapped.

A spokesperson said: "Cornwall Fire and Rescue service received a call from Devon & Cornwall Police reporting a road traffic collision on the A390, Hewas Water.

"Two pumps from St Austell, the rescue tender from Bodmin Community Fire Station along as a whole time officer were immediately mobilised by Critical Control.

"On arrival, the officer in charge confirmed a one vehicle road traffic collision.

"One casualty was in the care of the Ambulance service while crews made the vehicle safe.

"The incident was left safe and in the hands of Devon & Cornwall Police".
