Adults, dogs and a baby trapped by tide in Cornwall

Four adults, two dogs and a 10-month-old baby have been trapped by the tide in Cornwall.

The group got into trouble between Par and Polkerris on Tuesday afternoon.

Coastguards from St Austell and Par got the call, along with the RNLI's Fowey Lifeboat.

They were found at Booley Beach and crews had to make multiple trips to ferry them to safety.

Posting on Facebook, St Austell Coastguard said: "Team were paged today to the reports of 4 adults, 2 dogs and a 10mth old baby cut of by the tide between Par beach and Polkerris.

"The team deployed and found the casualties along with Fowey RNLI inshore lifeboat to assist. They were found at Booley Beach.

"The ILB then made multiple trips from the beach to Par to the Coastguard Rescue Team, who check them for any injuries and welfare.

"Safety advice was given to the casualties about the tides and how they come in and out and rise and fall.

"The right decision was made to call the Coastguard who are the only service who can call the right resources to maritime emergencies.

"Please, Please, Please check the tide times before you head out. As the tide comes it also rises in depth".
