Fans are being offered the 'true' Poldark experience, right where the author would have brought Ross and Demelza to life!

Sitting in an idyllic area of Perranporth was once the place where Winston Graham penned his epic Poldark novels.

Now Nampara Row, which is sited on his former home, has been transformed into 'contemporary holiday cottages'.

Owners say that those who enjoy the iconic BBC period drama will be able to explore many of the locations for the series within walking distance.

Denise Udry, director of Duchy Holidays which manages Nampara Row, said: "Nampara Row is tucked away in a rural lane, surrounded by Cornish countryside, and offers an insight into the landscape and surroundings that inspired the Poldark novels, and features so heavily in the TV series. Perranporth is true Poldark country, and a must visit for fans".

The property inspired the name for Ross and Demelza’s own home and is available for visitors to stay.

Graham lived in the town on the north Cornwall coast during his adult years and the coastline provided the inspiration and backdrop to his novels.

Prior to living on the Nampara site, he had rented a small bungalow overlooking the beach.

Although the bungalow is no more, Graham’s legacy has been commemorated with a stone memorial bench in the very spot that inspired the dramatic landscape of his novels.

Fans of the hit show can enjoy walks from Perranporth, taking in filming locations from Holywell Bay to Chapel Porth (the filming location for Poldark’s home Nampara Valley), and Graham’s homes in the village.

Other properties nearby include Nampara Court, Chymorvah, Breakaway, Sand Dunes and Penhale, all situated a short distance from Nampara Row.

Perranporth sits between Wheal Coates and Holywell Bay, both regularly used for scenes in Poldark.

It follows the release of the latest series, which is being aired on Sundays on BBC 1 from 9PM.

Those wishing to book the holiday home can do so here.
