A school near St Austell has had to close urgently after it was left with no water.

Officials at Carclaze Primary say a leak has left them without working toilets.

Parents were urged to come and collect their children on Wednesday afternoon and bosses say it will stay shut on Thursday too.

They hope to re-open on Friday.

A spokesperson for the school posted on Facebook: "URGENT SCHOOL CLOSURE - due to a water leak/no toilets we are closing the school - please collect your child from their class ASAP. Thank you".

They later added: "SCHOOL CLOSURE UPDATE: due to the need to obtain a part from the manufacturer and because we do not have a time scale for the part to arrive we will need to remain closed tomorrow on Thursday 14th June.

"We are hoping to be open as usual on Friday but we will update you as soon as possible. Thank you".
