Crews scrambled to caravan blaze in Wadebridge

Firefighters have rushed to a caravan blaze at a huge waterside development in Wadebridge.

Crews from the town and Bodmin had to clear gas cylinders from the scene at Bradford's Quay.

The fire broke out just before 6pm on Wednesday but luckily, teams managed to stop it escalating.

Posting on Facebook, Wadebridge Community Fire Station said: "Two appliances from Wadebridge and one from Bodmin Community Fire Station were mobilised to a large fire at Bradford's Quay.

"On arrival, the crew discovered one caravan and surrounding area well alight. Quick and decisive actions from the crew prevented the fire from escalating further.

"Gas cylinders and combustible materials were removed from the area. Two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the blaze.

"A stop message was sent to Critical Control shortly after 18:30pm".
