It is understood a young boy who plunged from a pier in Cornwall was chasing a seagull who stole his pasty.

The nine-year-old lad was airlifted to hospital after reportedly falling over 20ft at Looe.

The youngster, who is believed to have suffered head injuries, is recovering at Derriford.
