Heartbreaking tributes after Cornish woods tragedy

Friends and family of a young man, who died after a freak accident in Cornish woods, have paid emotional tributes.

25-year-old Ryan O'Carroll was reportedly setting up a tent at Tehidy, when he was struck by a falling tree.

The holidaymaker from Southampton is understood to have visiting the Duchy for Boardmasters.

He was rushed to Derriford Hospital over the weekend but, tragically, doctors were unable to save him.

Ryan was the founder and CEO of Yo Telecom and, on Tuesday evening, the company posted a tribute on Facebook.

"It is with great shock and sadness that we, as a company, must inform you that Ryan O'Carroll has tragically passed away following an accident.

"Ryan was an incredible person, who will be deeply missed by each and every one of us.

"He continues to inspire us everyday to achieve his dream of helping others increase their success.

"We will keep WOWing the world for you, Ryan!"

Posting on Instagram, Ryan's wife Stephanee, who was with him on the camping trip, said he inspired her every day.

"I've tried to write this down many times and every time it doesn't seem to say enough.

The day I met you was the best day of my life. This whole thing has been surreal. I can't believe you won't be next to me anymore we were inseparable.

"You changed my life, I became a better person because of you, you loved me unconditionally and you inspired me everyday.

"Ryan your time with us was incredible. You've left your mark baby you should be proud as we are of you. I'll miss you loads. I love you sneaky".

Natalie Jupp, who lives nearby, made desperate attempts to save Ryan when his little brother flagged down her car.

Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed Ryan O'Carroll's death is not being treated as suspicious.

"Police were notified on Saturday 11th August to reports of a concern forwelfare of a man in his 20s, who was believed to have been involved in an incident at Tehidy Country Park.

"Reports came in that a man had received serious head injuries after a tree had fallen where the man had been staying in a tent and he was taken to Derriford Hospital.

"The man later died as a result of injuries.

"This is not being treated as a suspicious incident and a file will be prepared for the coroner".
