Man and baby injured after collision in Looe

A man and baby, caught in a collision with a car in Looe, have escaped with minor injuries.

Police say the man was holding the child and they were stood at a junction on Fore Street.

Both fell to the floor and had to be checked over by paramedics at the scene.

It happened at around 5.40pm on Tuesday and police closed the road to investigate.

"Police were called yesterday at 5.38pm on Tuesday 14th August following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrians.

"It was reported that a Kia has been in collision with a man and a baby.

"The man holding the baby, was stood at a junction when the incident happened. They both fell to the floor and sustained minor injuries.

"Ambulance assessed the man and baby at the scene.

"The road was closed whilst emergency services attended the scene".

They added that officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle but it is understood no-one was arrested.
