Police have released CCTV after around £40,000 worth of jewellery was stolen in Penzance.

Little Jem's Jewellers on Market Jew Street was targeted in broad daylight on Tuesday morning.

Officers say a man entered the shop at around 11am and jumped over the counter.

He then swiped the jewellery, worth in the region of £40,000, from a window display.

Staff attempted to block the door as the man forced his way out of the shop.

He left the scene on foot and was last seen running in the direction of Penzance train station.

Luckily no one was hurt.
