A man has been winched to safety after getting stuck on cliffs at Kennack Sands.

The alarm was raised with Mullion Coastguard Rescue Team shortly before 9pm on Friday night.

The cliff was not stable enough to reach the man and Porthoustock Coastguard Rescue Team was called in to help.

The helicopter winched the casualty from the cliff and lowered him onto the beach where he was checked over by medical teams.

"Team paged 20.48 to a male stuck on the cliffs at Kennack Sands. Due to the instability of the cliff and the tide coming in, 924 Rescue Helicopter and Porthoustock Coastguard Rescue Team were also paged.

"The casualty was recovered by the helicopter winchman and lowered to the beach where he was received and checked over by the team".
