Major rescue as cows get stuck in Cornish river

Firefighters from four Cornish towns have been scrambled to save two cows stuck in a Cornish river.

The animals were stranded on the mud flats at Wadebridge first thing on Monday morning.

Crews from the town, Bude and St Austell got the call, along with the rope rescue vehicle from Bodmin.

"At 08:42 the Critical Control Centre received an emergency call regarding two cows in a river at Wadebridge.

"Wadebridge, Bude, St Austell and the rope rescue vehicle from Bodmin were immediately mobilised.

"Crews successfully rescued the cows and helped usher them back to the heard".
