Crash leaves wall round a memorial badly damaged

A crash that left the wall round a war memorial in Callington badly damaged has sparked a police appeal.

Officers say one vehicle was involved and it hit the boundary of St Mary's Church.

The collision happened on the second to last Saturday night in July.

Police are urging anyone who saw something just before 11pm to come forward.

"Police in Callington are appealing for witnesses of a single vehicle RTC which occurred on the evening of Saturday 21st July 2018.

"Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, which occurred at around 10:45pm on the junction of Church Street and Fore Street.

"It has caused substantial damage to the boundary of St Mary's Church and the town war memorial.

"If you are able to help, please do not hesitate to call us on 101 or email us on 101@dc.police.uk quoting log number 1180 of 21/07/2018 and asking the matter is brought to the attention of PC 492 Ives".
