Here are 5 things you can do in Cornwall... without your clothes on!

With more of us turning to naturism thanks to the recent heatwave, we've been discovering the best activities Cornwall has to offer in the nude!

Research shows there can be all kinds of benefits associated with being naked, from relieving stress, to increasing self-esteem, to spotting health issues...

Would you be brave enough?

 1. Zip Wiring

If you’ve ever been on a zip line fully clothed, you’ll probably be more than familiar with the less than flattering fit of the harness, pinching in all the wrong places over your jeans.

Well, now you can wave goodbye to that wedgie and feel the fresh air on your bare skin on one of the UK’s longest zip wires, at Adrenaline Quarry near Liskeard!

The next daring descent takes place as part of The Great British Skinny Dip on Sunday 9th September, where participants also have the opportunity to use the giant swing in the buff!

 2. Camping

People flock from all over the country and further afield to holiday at some of Cornwall’s renowned naturist campsites.

Mini-golf, volleyball and boules tournaments are among activities on offer at Southleigh Manor at St Columb, while Carbeil Naturist Holiday Park near Torpoint have table tennis, a sauna, and even a pool table for guests to use!

In the north of the county you’ll find ‘Cornwall's only naturist campsite situated on a working farm’, at Lower Poulza Post near Bude.

Facilities here include a club house that will accommodate up to 20 people and a large barbecue area with a rotating spit. You can even enjoy a round of darts!

 4. Days Out

The UK’s largest naturist festival, Nudefest, has previously visited venues including Cornwall’s Blue Reef Aquarium, the Eden Project, Newquay Zoo, and Skinners Brewery.

If looking slightly further afield, Exeter even has a naked bike ride, raising awareness for cycle safety. One person even braved it on a unicycle this year (and presumably paid dearly for it the following day).

4. Swimming

As well as the numerous nudist beaches Cornwall has to offer, the Far West Sun Club holds regular naturist swims with previous venues including Polkyth Leisure Centre in St Austell, and the Penventon Hotel in Redruth.

‘Wild swimming’ is also on offer at Adrenaline Quarry near Liskeard on 9th September. While swimmers are advised “nudity is mandatory for adults, it is called a skinny dip for a reason”, it’s nice to think it’s all for a great cause, with contributions given to the RNLI.

 5. Modelling

Regular life drawing classes take place in Cornwall at places like Newlyn Art School, St. Ives School of Painting, and Coffee Cake Create in Polperro, where the model is changed every two weeks to ‘help explore a variety of body shapes’.
