A warning has gone out after a couple were spotted too close to the edge of a Cornish cliff.

When Coastsafe advised them to move they replied "It's okay - we're local".

It happened around 200ft above Mutton Cove near Hayle on bank holiday Monday.

"A person died a few weeks ago in an incident at these cliffs.

"200ft drop straight down to Mutton Cove.

"When this was pointed out, the reply 'ITS OK, WE’RE LOCAL' was offered.

"Now I’ve never seen a local sprout wings!

"Barriers are put in place for your safety, don’t ignore them."
