Body found on boat in river Tamar

A man's body has been found on a boat in the river Tamar.

The discovery was made on Friday morning.

Officers and the Plymouth lifeboat were called to the scene but the man could not be saved.

Police say the 51-year-old's death is not being treated as suspicious.

"Police were informed that the body of a 51-year-old man was located on a boat on the River Tamar on the morning of Friday 31st August.

"Police are not treating his death as suspicious and a file is to be prepared for the coroner."
