Young boy rushed to hospital after A30 crash

A young boy has been taken to hospital after a crash that blocked a stretch of Cornwall's A30 for three hours.

Police say the child suffered a chest injury after two cars hit at Temple, but that is no longer believed to be serious.

An elderly driver was also taken to hospital with a possible broken ankle after the collision on Monday afternoon.

Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed the road was cleared and fully reopened by 7pm.

"Police and ambulance called to a two-car collision on the A30 eastbound at Temple, Bodmin, at 4.05pm on Monday, by Colliford Lake junction.

"The vehicles involved were a Skoda Felicia and a Toyota

"One elderly female driver sustained what was believed to have been possible broken ankle.

"A young boy has sustained a chest injury that is not believed to be serious.

"Both parties taken to hospital for treatment.

"The road was all cleared and reopened by 7pm".
