Man with links to Cornwall escapes from prison

A man who has links to Cornwall has escaped from prison.

Police say Marcus Wingfield absconded from Sudbury on Saturday.

The 43-year-old was convicted for burglary last year at Truro Crown Court.

He is originally from Ipswich but has links to the Duchy and Surrey.

Devon and Cornwall Police are urging people to be on the look out.

"On Saturday, September 1st 2018, Marcus Wingfield absconded from HMP Sudbury.

"Wingfield, originally from Ipswich, is 43 and has links to Surrey and Cornwall.

"Wingfield was convicted and sentenced for burglary in April 2017 at Truro Crown Court. He was given a 4 year 6 month prison sentence.

"Wingfield is white, 5ft 10ins with short brown hair and of medium build.

"He has a number of tattoos including one on his lower left arm which is a smiley face and a tattoo on his left hand reading: Kerri-Ann.

"If you have any information which may assist with our enquiries, please get in touch using one of the following non-emergency contact methods.
