UPDATE: Crash closes main road near Penryn

A main road near Penryn was closed after a crash involving a car and a motorbike.

The air ambulance was called to the A394 near the Treliever roundabout.

The road was shut in both directions and there was very slow traffic on Tuesday afternoon.

It was affecting people travelling towards Helston.

The biker has been airlifted to Treliske with a shoulder and arm injury.

The road has now re-opened but there is still congestion in the area.

"Police were called to a two-vehicle collision on the A394 at Longdown, Penryn, at 2.05pm today.

"It involved a car and a motorcycle, an Audi A3 vs Honda MC.

"The male motorcyclist has sustained a shoulder and arm injury. He has been airlifted to Treliske.

"The road is closed in both directions."

"Very slow traffic due to earlier accident on A394 in both directions between A39 Treliever Roundabout (Treliever Roundabout, Penryn) and Antron Hill (Longdowns). Congestion to the A39, with traffic queueing back past the Treluswell Roundabout.

"All lanes have been re-opened."
