When you are still clinging to the end of the Summer and the shops are already stocking Christmas stuff, it just does not sit right.

We have not even had Halloween or Bonfire night!

Pirate FM has noticed the usual festive fittings for December are already making their way onto our supermarket shelves.

Here is a list of the eager for Christmas culprits in Cornwall!

Asda is selling mince pies and apparently, their sell-by-date is October. Could this mean we should expect a mince pie shortage come December?

When is too early to sell Christmas cards? Tesco clearly does not think September is.

Tesco is not the only store selling Xmas cards, - Pirate FM has been told Card Factory are too!

Pirate FM has had reports that Tesco are also stocking the giant boxes of Christmas chocolates already, although a September spent eating Quality Streets could be something we can get behind.

The Range in St Austell is so eager for us to get into the festive spirit early that they are selling 2ft Santas.

Tesco Extra in Pool is joining in what appears to be a Christmas takeover, with wrapping paper, Christmas chocolates and other Xmas essentials.

M&S has also jumped on the bandwagon. Maybe they think we will run out of Xmas wrapping paper before Autumn ends...

Apparently M&S are worried we will run out of wrapping paper before Halloween.

There is not much we can do now - the shops are stocking Christmas essentials on their shelves so it must mean the festive countdown has started.

Of course Pirate FM did not want to be left out. You can head over to our Voucher shop and grab a discount on personalised calendars for 2019.

Those of us who are uber enthusiastic about Christmas all year round will be bouncing off the walls that Christmas seems to be starting earlier.

Some of us could just be September scrooges - but Halloween and Bonfire night come first!
